Satyagraha, starring Amitabh Bachchan-Kareena Kapoor-Ajay Devgn-Manoj Bajpai-Amrita Rao, had an above average occupancy on its opening day at the Domestic Box Office. The film’s screen count was approx 2400-2500 and made a business of around 11 crores on 1st Friday i.e. Day 1 at the India Box Office.
Multiplexes and single screens both fared more or less similar. Being a political drama set in Madhya Pradesh, this Prakash Jha directorial raked up a good moolah in the CI circuit and Delhi/UP circuit as well.
Satyagraha’s box office performance remained stable in the morning and afternoon shows. However, it showed massive pickup in the evening and night shows resulting a good Day 1 collections. The movie will surely pick up today and tomorrow, as the word of mouth publicity is strong and growing stronger!
